External Index and Query (EIQ)
Products™ are superior federated adapters that are accessed through standard
drivers and SQL, and are designed for virtual real-time data access,
integration, sharing and interoperability |
|
Each of the EIQ Products are
intended to accommodate almost any data management situation and solution,
including data access and integration, customer data integration (CDI)-master
data management (MDM), link mapping and link analysis, business intelligence
(BI) and analytics.
The four EIQ Products currently offered are:

EIQ SuperAdapters™ for data
source access with reference data model mapping
A
superior alternative to conventional federated adapters,
offered on a data source basis; includes index and results data
cleansing, transformation and standardization, reference data model mapping
and associated query transformation. Results from an EIQ SuperAdapter
are produced in the same reference data model format as results data from
other EIQ SuperAdapters, each accessing individual data sources.
WhamTech EIQ Federated Server™
sub-middleware and/or other third-party middleware products can combine results as
needed.

EIQ TurboChargers™
for data source access without reference data model mapping
A query enhancer that resides between
an application or a conventional federated adapter, and a data source
system, similar to an EIQ SuperAdapter, but without the ability to
transform queries and map results to a reference data model.
Indexes and results data are cleansed, transformed and standardized.

EIQ Adapters™
for conventional data source access without indexes, but with
reference data model mapping
In the situation where none of the 12 change data capture (CDC)
options are available to build and maintain indexes, EIQ
Adapters can be used and are similar to conventional adapters.
Queries are submitted to, and transformed by EIQ Adapters;
however, queries are submitted to, and executed by, data sources. Results
data can be cleansed, transformed and standardized.

EIQ Federated Servers for other EIQ Product integration
- no direct data source access
A virtual data integration, sharing and interoperability
sub-middleware query management system, to access multiple data
sources each of which must have an associated EIQ SuperAdapter, EIQ TurboCharger
or EIQ Adapter product. EIQ Federated Server does not have its own indexes, query
processing or results transformation, but can distribute queries and combine results data
from other EIQ Products. EIQ Federated Servers can access other EIQ Federated Servers as though they are single data sources and can be
independently configurable, allowing for high performance, scalability,
load balancing, failover and redundancy. |

*ATTACH allows
disparate data source indexes to be integrated as though a
single set of indexes, similar to merging schemas; however, this
is not a highly scalable solution and requires a higher level of
cooperation among data source owners
Other legacy products were
offered in the past and are generally no longer offered as
products; however, many of the technologies have been,
and can be, used in the current EIQ Products offering.
