It's a
CONTROL issue!
“One major implication of big data is that in the future users will not
be able to put all useful information into a single data warehouse.
Logical data warehouses bringing together information from multiple
sources as needed will replace the single data warehouse model.”
- Forrester 2012 Predictions
EIQ Products combine technologies from the conventional approaches of data warehousing, federated adapters and enterprise search.
EIQ Products are dataless hybrids that retain most of the advantages and overcoming most of the disadvantages of the conventional approaches.
Note that in the past, all EIQ Products™ were referred to as EIQ Server®. Since 2007, WhamTech has differentiated the various product offerings and names them collectively as EIQ Products. Some of the older documents still use the product name EIQ Server.

It's All About Data
- Accessing it - indexes and queries
- Securing and protecting it - including across
organizations
- Making it useful - cleansing, transforming
and standardizing
- Distilling it - aggregations and calculations
- Making sense of it - context, categorization
and semantics
- Connecting it to other data - obvious/direct
and non-obvious/indirect relationships
- Alerting/notifying those who need to know - watch-lists, event-triggers, subscriptions and thresholds
The problem with data that most organizations face is that they are awash with it, and it is rarely available in a useable form. All data access, integration, sharing and interoperability approaches attempt to address these problems to a greater or lesser extent; EIQ Products are unique in that they address all these problems.
EIQ Products access data sources through available drivers/APIs and query languages - and are, in-turn, accessed through standard drivers or Web services and SQL or XML.
EIQ Products build, maintain and use their own indexes to process standard query language (SQL) queries on multiple, disparate and distributed structured, unstructured and semi-structured data sources. Data remains in data sources, and is read, cleansed, transformed and standardized to build and maintain indexes in near-real-time. SQL queries against the indexes are highly successful and fast because of the quality of the indexes, additional derived-value indexes and processing load absorbed by EIQ Products; not the data source systems. Results data are read from data sources and put through the same data quality processes as indexes, directly from indexes or inverted from indexes, then merged with other data source results and provided to third-party calling applications/middleware.
EIQ Products provide a real alternative to the conventional approaches for data access, analytics, integration, sharing and interoperability across multiple, disparate data sources with higher success, and lower complexity, implementation time and cost. This provides real value for business intelligence (BI), analytics, marketing, customer data integration (CDI), master data management (MDM) and other data-centric solutions. Other products may superficially sound like they do what EIQ Products do, but they do not.
